The view from under a chocolate mimosa tree makes me think of a vintage fern-patterned wallpaper or maybe some lawn furniture. Then again maybe I'm thinking of something with a Pacific Island motif?

Is it a fence or is it a hedge? Neither.  (The alternate answer is yes!) It's both. It's a Fedge, which is kind of fun to say, I think.

I've been searching for a Monarch Chrysalis for years and this morning I finally found one. And it looks like it's nearly read to break free and fly too.

I spent this warm October morning weaving some Willow branches for a nice change of pace.

Coming and Going

The view looks pretty sweet to me either way. Sometimes it feels like people plant things just to delight me. 

Some Roses

Its early October and some roses still bloom.

Others have dropped their petals, leaving star-shaped sepals in their stead.

Still others are in another stage entirely and already are bearing fruit.

The Sunflower House at the Children's Museum

The Sunflower House at the Long Island children's museum looks like a fine place to sit and read a little book, maybe even a book titled The Sunflower House about a boy who plants some tall sunflowers in a circle. (If your legs are on the small side, that is).

Or perhaps bump into a ladybug.
