There's Still So Much to Learn and See

It's hard to overestimate how much you notice on every walk outside once you've gotten bitten by the gardening bug. Probably the thing I will miss most about my internship at Brooklyn Botanic is the opportunity to observe trees and herbaceous plants in all their stages while working or walking. On our last walk through the garden, I snapped a picture of this bud. It's something that I overlooked in all the winters of my life, until I took an interest in gardening. Then I couldn't believe how many details of my surroundings I'd walked or biked by without ever noticing or really looking at and appreciating.
