What's Blooming Bouquet from the Vegetable Garden
Joe's bouquets, whether weeds from the side of the road or pickings from the vegetable garden, are usually my favorites. Here just a little slice of May via a flowering cover crop, a brassica that bolted, sage and some unopened Verbena bonariensis, which actually overwintered in my garden this year.

It's a beauty. Hey Joe, can we hire you?
I know right? You should have seen how it came home in the lettuce bag, all droopy. But it perked up after a water bath and a night in the fridge. He's just got the touch.
As ever I'm sorry to report verbena overwinter in my garden and and some day soon may BE the garden!
xo Jane
It's perfect!
Jen..watch out. Joe may insist we visit you on our next bike ride upstate. Jane...does this mean we are in South American zones now? I didn't think the verbena could make it through a winter here, but then i guess we never really had one.
