Dog days

It was a lemonade and two ice pops, sweaty knees kind of day today. Even the Gomphrena (globe amaranth) was eyeing the lily pool, possibly dreaming of a dip. Or maybe I was imagining things after spending the morning in the blazing sun of the rose garden.
