Yesterday's Pollinators

Polistes dominula, European Paper Wasp, Brooklyn

Above, the European Paper Wasp (Polistes dominula), considered invasive in North America, on flowering Cilantro and below one of our own, with a name sounding straight out of New York, da bombus. Possibly Bombus impatiens, a common Bumblebee of the Northeast, digging on a flowering Allium.
